Lately I've been seeing a lot of people with such potential to be great, but throwing it away. It's really quite.. sad. Personally, I feel as though I among many other people am not living up to my full potential, and it's a really ugly disappointing feeling. I mean, everybody has potential for different areas. One has potential to be an academic student per say, but isn't willing to take on the work load so they remain in applied. Would it be deemed smart for not taking the opportunity to be in a higher stream of schooling because of the stress factor? Or would it be deemed lazy for not living up to their full potential? If you had the opportunity to be better with a small toll, how do you make these decisions? The thing is, I don't think that either of these options is wrong or right but if one was to choose one both have chances of regret.
Living up to your full potential requires a lot of sacrifice. To grow in some areas you have to either have to stop growth, or change progress in others. Unfortunately this is one of the downfalls of being human and being unable to multitask everything. The feeling of actually succeeding to live up is so fulfilling that it might just be worth it. It also helps in the long run. But can we qualify people who don't always do their best as lazy, or reasonable? The stress of always being the best you can get stressful and overrated. That can be argued with the whole 'you only get this one life you mind as well be amazing' excuse. But in my opinion, it's completely unrealistic and over stressful to think that way. I think potential is really good to fill but is not necessary.
